Our Background

Spectrum Payment Services Limited was set up in 2007 to offer current accounts to personal customers and then in 2012 to SME's under the different trading styles of CardOneMoney and Acorn Account.

In August 2017 Equals Group PLC acquired Spectrum Payment Services Limited to enable it to diversify and provide digital financial products to individuals and small businesses. Equals main aim when created was to bring about a change in acquiring foreign currency, challenging existing providers, to offer their customers better value for money and ease of access. Equals remains a mid- tier foreign exchange provider and a leading provider of prepaid travel currency cards. With over 600,000 registered consumer customers and over 8,000 business customers. Equals has a solid grounding in both the business to consumer and business to business marketplace.

CardOneMoney are experts in providing accessible but highly functional current accounts not only for personal account customers, but for small businesses as well. With no credit checks, no branch visits or signatures required, we open accounts more quickly and with less fuss than the high street banks.

As well as gaining agency services and joining the BACS direct debit scheme and the Current Account Switching Service, in January 2019, Spectrum Payment Services Limited was granted Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) accounts with the Bank of England, gaining direct membership to the Faster Payments scheme.

Our Directors have over 40 combined years of knowledge at some of the world's leading financial institutions including Morgan Stanley, UBS, Smile.co.uk and Bank of Scotland. They also bring expertise in digital media, digital retail, online and mobile industries such as Shazam, Virgin Radio and Seatwave. This knowledge has allowed them to produce a secure, easy to use product packed full of features - just what you're looking for in your current account.
